“[T]he Angel Gabriel was sent from God… [t]o a virgin… and the name of the virgin was Mary… And… said to her… Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call his name, Jesus… And it came to pass that… her days were accomplished, that she should be delivered… And after eight days were accomplished, that the child should be circumcised: his name was called Jesus, which was called by the Angel, before he was conceived in the womb.” (St. Luke i, 26-31, ii, 6, 21)

“Christ Jesus… being in the form of God… debased himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men… He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath exalted him, and hath given him a name which is above every name: That in the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians ii, 5-11)
